Toronto Granites Hockey February 4, 1924 Winter Olympic Gold Medal, On February 4, 1924, the International Winter Sports Week, regarded as the first Winter Olympic games, ended in Chamonix, France. This gathering of 16 national teams saw the Toronto Granites bring home the Gold Medal for Canada in Ice Hockey, outscoring the opposition 110-3 against Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, and Great Britain.
