Topsfield Fair, Topsfield Fair Giant pumpkin tops 56 contenders officially weighed in 1674 and exactly 1 / 2 pounds!

Winner Steve Connolly became the proud owner of the pumpkin 4th in the world, reports boston.com.

The winning pumpkin was grown from the seed of another world champion pumpkin, which weighed 1725 pounds, known as pumpkin growers harp Christy Harp.

The competition attracts giant pumpkin growers in the United States and Canada, carrying their pumpkins in a day early to have them weighed.

Topsfield Fair, held in Topsfield, Massachusetts, is considered America’s oldest agricultural fair. It was founded in 1818.

Pumpkin weigh-off, however, was not established until 1984.
