Top Gun 2

Top Gun 2, How jaded is that the whole section? Pretty cynical, right? But back to a simpler time, the year was 1986. Tom Cruise did not jump on couches, and Val Kilmer was thin and completely under the yoke. The term “Yeeha, Jester’s dead!” Had entered the national lexicon. No one realized how we had it. The Russians were the enemy, but they were a kind sensitive and sometimes played by Sean Connery.
And now look at us. Our action movies, and movies in general, went to a much darker place. Everything is paradoxical, and nothing can be taken at face value. We were internetted, and expressions of pure joy are rare in American cinema.
Fast forward to the news that Top Gun 2 could happen if they find the correct part for Tom Cruise cameo. The natural reaction is to say, “What? Not at all! Ugh, whatever! “But we have to fight against that instinct. Because Top Gun 2 will be horrible or great, but anyway, it would be great fun. And we would also take less authentic, all pilots and their millions worth of equipment, each trying to live their life on the edge with music playing important behind.
Also, for the record, Tom Skerritt is available and looks exactly the same as he did 24 years ago. This cannot be a coincidence.
