A partnership between chefs and local restaurants, fishermen gatherers and farmers, the activity of accommodation and tourism providers, Fiesta! Tofino-Ucluelet celebrates the abundance of locally available seafood and sustainable development “ship-to-table practices commonly used by restaurants in the area and the Guild of Tofino Ucluelet kitchen. The TUCG recently launched an intensive marketing social media including Facebook contest announced April 3 that quickly attracted thousands of participants in the hope of winning and dining certificate or one of the two grand prize packages vacations that include airfare roundtrip from Vancouver to Tofino Orca Airways, and a stay of 3 nights at Black Rock Resort on the beach at Long Beach Lodge Resort, Pacific Sands Beach Resort or the Wickaninnish Inn. Several of the chefs and restaurants participating in party! Tofino Ucluelet were recognized this week in 2011 in Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards including Cactus Club Cafe (Best Casual Restaurant), Maenam (best Thai restaurant), Chef Nico Shuermans, Chamber Restaurant (Chef of the Year), La Pointe at the Inn Wickaninnish (Best Resort Lounge) and Restaurant Zambrano (Best Restaurant in Victoria).
