Toddlers Tiaras Sue

Toddlers Tiaras Sue, THE mother of a “Toddlers and Tiaras” star filed a $30 million lawsuit in New York against the owners of three news outlets that ran articles that “brazenly sexualize” the five year old.

Isabella Barrett, who was featured on the controversial TLC show about young beauty pageant contestants, was videotaped in a Manhattan event space two weeks ago singing along to the LMFAO hit “I’m Sexy and I Know It.”

The footage ended up on the celebrity website TMZ and was the subject of stories on the Huffington Post and Daily Mail websites.

“The articles brazenly attempt to sexualize” the girl, “falsely claiming that she was gyrating in a nightclub and singing about her sex appeal,” according to the suit, which was filed yesterday in Manhattan Supreme Court.

They also “falsely claim” that Isabella’s mother, Susanna, “acted as a disc jockey and fed her daughter lyrics … ‘enjoying the raucous event far more than her bemused looking child.’”

In reality, the suit says, the charity event was at a restaurant, not a nightclub; the girl was sitting, not gyrating; and the person egging her on to sing some of the words was the DJ, not her mom.

“These falsehoods expose plaintiff Barrett and her daughter to humiliation, ridicule, contempt, aversion and an incorrect public belief that Isabella has engaged in inappropriate behavior,” the suit says.
