Tobey Maguire’s Wife Jennifer Meyer, The jewelry designer launches a new holiday collection and dishes about her fashion favorites.
Jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer Maguire is no stranger to dressing for Hollywood red carpets. She has been married to Spiderman’s Tobey Maguire since 2007, and always appears at events looking effortlessly chic. Her designs—which have a dressed up California-cool vibe and are worn by Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Rihanna, and Reese Witherspoon (to name a few)–have become an everyday must-wear for celebrities. The new Jennifer Meyer holiday collection features emeralds and lapis detailing, as well as her signature wishbone charms and personalized nameplate pieces (which are all available at Barneys). Meyer dishes to THR about her favorite designers and her fashion mishaps.
What designers you love recently/always?
I always and forever love Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney. I adore Girl by Band of Outsiders and my new favorite is Elkin. I just got some of the most adorable Winter Kate clothes designed by my sweet friend Nicole Richie, and they couldn’t have made me happier.
Where have you been shopping?
I love to shop online, barneys.com , net-a-porter.com, jcrew.com, shopbop.com, topshop.com.. just to name a few. My shopping happens at 10pm when my babies are fed, bathed, and fast asleep.
What have you purchased recently?
A few hippie vintage dresses on ebay and two new bags: one from Simone Camille and one from Donatienne. I love bags!!
What are your favorite places to shop?
Satine and the downtown flower market, to spruce up my wardrobe and my house.
What are your travel must-haves?
I pack everything in ziploc bags (I know, plastic is awful, but I promise I reuse them!). I always pack a Shoshanna bikini whenever I travel, as it always seems to come in handy. I also pack Rescue Remedy to relax on long flights, my ipad for the kids, a scarf my sister gave me (which becomes a blanket), and a good book…right now I can’t wait to read the new Steve Jobs biography.
Any fashion mishaps?
When I was pregnant with my son, Otis, I wore a Stella McCartney sequin dress. I loved that dress, and it would’ve been very cute on a girl who wasn’t 7 months pregnant. I always felt guilty like I should have apologized to Stella McCartney because I looked like a sausage rolled in sequins.
