Timberake Flies Cake To Grandad, Justin Timberlake was said to be devastated when his grandparents couldn’t come to his wedding after his grandad Bill was ill in hospital, but he was still determined they were part of the big day, flying a piece of the wedding cake 5,000 miles from the celebration in Italy back to the US. The superstar couple spared no expense when it came to tying the knot and got hitched in a week long celebration in Southern Italy and flew a piece of the almond and coconut desert across the Atlantic.
“I couldn’t go to the wedding. Justin was heartbroken but I couldn’t leave my husband Bill, who is ill in hospital,” Justin’s grandmother Sadie Bomar told The Mirror.
“I’m so sorry I had to miss it but I talked to Justin and Jessie, and they understood that I couldn’t leave Papa.”
She continued: “So Justin said he was making me an album of photos and sending some cake.
“They called me on the day and I congratulated them and told Justin ‘thank you for giving me this beautiful new grand-daughter’.”
Sadie is hoping to see the happy couple soon after they return from honeymoon: “They had a beautiful day. Jessica’s such a beautiful girl. I just love her. They are coming here real soon and will show me the pictures.”
“It was a shame it wasn’t in America but they had more privacy in Italy, where they are now enjoying a holiday.”
