TMZ says that Wood’s wife Elin confronted him about who he was texting so late at night, and snatched the phone from him, and threatened to call Uchitel. The couple struggled over the phone, which TMZ says eventually broke. The struggle also reportedly damaged the front hall, which is why Woods would not allow the police to enter the home.

The White House is finally accepting some of the blame for the party crashing done by Tareq and Michaele Salahi at a White House state dinner last month. Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina said, “After reviewing our actions, it is clear that the White House did not do everything we could have done to assist the United States Secret Service in ensuring that only invited guests enter the complex.”

The Salahis were supposed to testify today at a hearing before the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee about how they infiltrated the party, but the couple’s publicist says that they have declined to testify. Instead the Salahi’s have submitted a package that includes sworn statements, as well as e-mail correspondence with a White House official.

TLC has nixed a couple of Super Bowl opportunities for Jon Gosselin, according to his attorney Mark Heller. “Two different entities sought to solicit his services [for Super Bowl ad spots], but in my view, they were scared of TLC. In my view, it was a mean-spirited act on [TLC’s] part,” Heller said. But it will be a while before the feud between Gosselin and TLC is settled. There is an April 19 court date to address the counter-suits involving they’ve filed against one another.
