This day is known as the “day the music died.” Is a source of inspiration for the song “American Pie”. This is the anniversary of this event 50th.
In 1959, the Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Bopper great it ended in the last public appearance in the hall of waves in the lake and clear, and Iowa. They died in a plane crash the next day.
Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959), known professionally and Buddy Holly, and the singer-songwriter and American pioneers of rock and roll. Despite his success did not last more than a year and a half before his death in a plane crash, Holly described by critic Bruce Eder as “the single most influential force in rock and roll creativity early.” Works and innovations inspired and influenced both his contemporaries and musicians at a later time, especially The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, and without McLean, Bob Dylan, and exercised a profound impact on popular music.
Holly was in the first group of recruits for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Holly # 13 among the “Fifty greatest artists of all time.”
Buddy Holly released only three albums in his life. However, the abundance of coral, recorded documents that have managed to release a brand new album and singles for 10 years after his death, although the technical quality and very mixed, some being studio quality and other original recordings. Holly simple demonstration recordings were overdubbed by studio musicians to make it up to commercial standards at the time. The best of these records overdubbed often considered to be the first one after his death, combined with the 1959 “Peggy Sue got married” and “crying, waiting, hoping,” produced by Jack Hansen, with the addition of backing vocals of Ray Charles Singers simulate an authentic record c**kroaches . “Crying, waiting, hoping” in fact it was supposed to be “A” side of 45 years, with a group of friends to have an effective backup and call echoing voice response. Fifty-Hansen, Holly structures six years have been overdubbed the original, released in 1960 to LL Coral TheBuddy Holly Story, Vol. 2. But the best “after his death,” the records of the studio recordings, which included the “desire” and “recall.”
Buddy Holly continue to promote and sell them as “active” artist, and records of the following loyal to it, especially in Europe. Demand for unissued Holly material was so great that Norman Petty resorted to overdubbing whatever I could find was: alternative takes of studio recordings, and originally rejected masters, “Crying, waiting, hoping” and other tracks of the five 1959 (a new addition to surf guitar arrangements ), and even Holly amateur pilot in 1954 (where the low-fidelity vocals often unannounced and behind the new orchestrations). And last newBuddy Holly album was Giant (featuring the single “Love is strange”), issued in 1969. Between 1959-60 overdubs Jack Hansen, 1960s Norman Petty overdubs, take a different alternative, and Holly assets Untitled, collectors can often choose from multiple versions of the same song.
