The Cove MovieThe Cove Movie:The Cove is a winner of the 2009 Prize of the Academy of American documentary film about the annual slaughter of dolphins in a national park in Taiji, Wakayama, Japan.

The film shows that the number of dolphins killed is several times greater than the number of dead whales in Antarctica, and states that 23,000 dolphins and porpoises die every year in Japan. The dolphins are corralled into the migration of a hidden cove in the offset and killed by spears and knives in the side of small fishing boats.

On March 7, 2010 The Cala won the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 82nd Academy Awards.
