Thayer Evans, Fox Sports’ Thayer Evans, citing an unnamed source in Florida, reports this morning that the current Auburn Cameron Newton quart much dissected out of Gainesville in late 2008 was motivated by multiple Cheating accusations, including cheating in class, putting his name on another student’s paper and turning it into a document from the Internet.
Faced with a possible suspension or expulsion for violating the code of the university academic honor – with a recent arrest for launch on a laptop stolen from a window, another season behind Tim Tebow and an apparent demotion behind John Brantley Gator on the table – Newton has decided to transfer to a junior college before facing the Florida Student Conduct Committee. Newton’s father, who told Sports Illustrated last month that Cam has decided to transfer when he heard the announcement Tebow returns for its final season, Evans said, “I was not there. I can not confirm or deny. ”
Everything seems to be ancient history, without consequences on the future of Newton in Auburn. But given that Evans was already furious Auburn fans by calling on voters to reject Newton Heisman, following an investigation into its NCAA recruiting out of junior college, he might want to hire some security the next time he is there on plains. • Elsewhere in the saturation media … Newton is actually on the cover of next issue of Sports Illustrated for the first time (with Andy Dalton TCU and Oregon LaMichael James), to illustrate another non-BCS bordered by Yahoo Sports’ Dan Wetzel, whose 16 – plan team playoff and final book, Death to the BCS, have made him the nation’s go-to hate BCS.
