‘Tebow’ Cocaine Dog

December 18, 2011 by staff

‘Tebow’ Cocaine Dog, Not only is Tebow scoring on the field but now he’s putting the name to good use in the fight against crime as well.
This time, however, it wasn’t the star Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow that made the impressive snatch but a drug-sniffing dog named in the football star’s honor.
The dog busted a man for trying to smuggle a kilogram of cocaine out of the Orlando International Airport on December 8.

Police approached a man at baggage claim who was acting suspicious, checking the name tags on each piece of luggage as if he did not know which bag he was supposed to grab.
Weslie Morales Castro, 20, picked up a suitcase with a tag for Jose Garcia. Police approached him, with Tebow in tow, who then sniffed the drugs stuffed into a children’s toy inside the bag.

He then tried to bargain with police, saying he was ‘just a little fish’ and he was willing to help ‘catch the big fish’.
Those big fish were apparently waiting for him to drop the suitcase off at a nearby fast food restaurant.
Investigators discovered that the bag came to Florida on a flight from Puerto Rico, was checked in by the elusive Jose Garcia who paid for his ticket in cash and never boarded the flight.
Even though he claimed to be a little fish, Castro was arrested on a federal charge of selling or distributing a controlled substance but was released on a $25,000 bond.
Tim Tebow has been a local legend for years, even before his six-game winning streak for the Denver Broncos.
Tebow made a name for himself at the University of Florida as an undergraduate before going into the 2010 NFL draft.
Tebow’s name has been making news more often off the field this week than on, and while the drug bust was obviously a positive instance, there was a negative one as well.

Four high school students were suspended after ‘Tebowing’ in the hallway, taking part in the craze where people mimic the football player’s trademark post-victory pose on bended knee.
The quarterback also got a potential-presidential shout out, with Texas Governor Rick Perry saying in Thursday night’s debate that he hopes ‘I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses’.
