Teacher Suspended Daily Show Class, An Illinois teacher has found himself suspended for six school days after complaints that he showed students clips from The Daily Show.

Rhett Felix is a teacher at Eureka High School in Eureka, Illinois, and thought it would be a good idea to play segments of the Comedy Central show to the kids in his government and law class. But upon learning about the content, many parents became upset — and not necessarily because of the political leanings of the show’s host, Jon Stewart.

Eureka mayor Scott Punke, who’s nephew is in Felix’s class, told the Chicago Tribune, “I [complained] because of the language and the sexual overtones that were included in the show that were being shown to sophomores in high school. Many of the children don’t even have TVs in their houses because of religious beliefs.”

“We’re a very conservative community here in the city of Eureka,” Punke added.

President Ronald Reagan attended Eureka College in the town of approximately 5,000 people.
