Tattooed Barbie, Oh, that Barbie. She is a magnet for controversy. She is the go-to toy for girls around the world, but it promotes a healthy self-image is literally a physical impossibility. But this time, Barbie has gone too far.
New tokidoki Barbie is raising eyebrows for parents, mainly because of their tattoos visible in the upper body. The doll wears a tiger tattoo on her neck, as well as flowers and other tattoos on her chest and shoulders. Tattoos are not entirely new for Barbie, 2009 “Totally Stylin ‘Tattoos” Barbie comes with tattoos removable label, but the ink standing Barbie? This is a decision that can not come off with a sharp nail.
“If I give [my daughter] is going to think [tattoos] is fine. You may want to go look,” says Virginia resident Bill Smith. Maybe. Although we wanted our ears pierced for years and when I got to college, the pen. So basically, if the daughter of Bill Smith wants tattoos, tattooing, she will.
Virginia resident Kevin Buckner said that the doll is “to teach children to love tattoos before they are old enough to dress that way.” Again, maybe. But you still have to buy for her daughter, Kevin. Speaking of which, has said publicly Mattel Barbie the doll is not intended for children, but rather for adult collectors of Barbie. The farce is that we are avoiding the real issue at hand – the fact that adults still collect Barbies.
