X Factor Judges 2012

X Factor Judges 2012, “The X Factor” U.K. on ITV has been the No. 1 TV show in the U.K. for several years, but based on early reactions fom the public about “The Voice” U.K. (which premiered on BBC1 on March 24, 2012), “The X Factor” creator/executive producer Simon Cowell should be very worried about “The X Factor” U.K. losing many viewers to “The Voice.” (In the U.K., “The Voice is competing in the same time slot against ITV’s “Britain’s Got Talent,” another show executive produced by Cowell.)

In the U.S., this migration of viewers has already happened. NBC’s “The Voice” has eclipsed Fox’s “The X Factor” in ratings and critical acclaim. According to Nielsen Media Research, The second season of “The Voice” in the U.S. in 2012 is averaging about 18 million U.S. viewers per episode, while the first season of “The X Factor” U.S. in 2011 averaged 12.5 million U.S. viewers per episode. (The second season of “The X Factor” U.S. premieres in September 2012 on a date to be announced.)

In April 2012, “The Voice” is also launching in Australia, where it will probably be a serious rival to “The X Factor” Australia.

“The X Factor” is open to solo singers, duos and groups, while “The Voice” is open to only solo singers and duos.

“The X Factor” started the idea of judges competing with each other as mentors to the contestants, which is something the “The Voice” also does.
