WWE Royal Rumble 2012

WWE Royal Rumble 2012, The WWE Royal Rumble is here and the superstars will leave ‘no rope intact’ to survive in order to qualify for the big prize at Wrestlemania XXVIII.

By all accounts this rumble is going to be a big one with the likes of some really ‘big’ superstars and some underdogs with the potential to make it big. Adding to it the absence of The Undertaker from the scene ever since he squared off in his 19th Wrestlemania against Triple H and won brings a mysterious charm to the show leading to the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’.

The five probables any of whom may win the Royal Rumble 2012 by surviving 29 other wrestlers in the ring are Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho.

Cody is riding on a wave of successive good performances. He was in the final four back in 2009. The son of legendary Dusty Rhodes will most likely become a champion. It is to be seen if that comes with the Royal Rumble.

Wade Barrett has only grown in power since the Nexus days and continued to do so even after going solo. The current arch nemesis of Randy Orton, Wade must be looking for a chance to claim the gold by winning this event and entering the Wrestlemania as the main event.

The Irishman Sheamus was once the most hated superstar but is now the most loved one. His Borough Kick can bring down even the biggest of opponents like Mark Henry and Big Show. The kick is powerful enough to KO others. So there is no reason why he may not win this event but Royal Rumble has a history of short term partnerships and sudden betrayals.

No one in the ring will underestimate The Viper Randy Orton. The master of the quickest finisher in WWE history, Randy’s RKO can stun, shut out and throw away opponents out of the ring with precision. His stay will depend on his tackling with Wade Barrett. If Barrett is dealt with early there is no stopping Randy who already has won the event once before.

The big secret is in a returning Chris Jericho who, this past Monday on Raw, spoke his first words into a microphone since returning to WWE on January 2. “This Sunday at the Royal Rumble, it’s gonna be the end of the world as you know it,” Jericho smiled confidently and left. What it means is not clear but it sure must be something very big.
