Octavia Nasr CnnOctavia Nasr NY Daily News —  Only few  characters Octavia Nasr CNN cost of her  job after tweeted respect” for Hezbollah terror sheikh love who died this weekend.

Nasr, editor of CNN Business in the Middle East, ran in hot water after posting on Twitter it was “sad to hear of the adoption of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah One … Hezbollah giants I respect a lot. ”

Faced with an immediate and lasting, it backtracked Tuesday in a blog post, saying she did not approve the work of life Fadlallah – who has been labeled a terrorist by U.S. authorities.

“This is not the kind of life talking about in a short tweet. It’s something I regret deeply,” she writes. Yet Fadlallah praised it for being a pioneer on the theme “Women’s Rights” and warning against Muslim men abuse their wives.

It is not enough. Wednesday, CNN has learned.

Parisa Khosravi, vice president of CNN International News Gathering, told the staff that Nasr agrees, it should not have made such a “simplistic” comment without context.

“However,” Khorsravi wrote in a note “at this stage, we believe that his credibility in his position as editor in chief on the Middle East has been compromised in the future.”

Nasr joined CNN in 1990 and was an analyst in the air and off-air over the business in the Middle East for a variety of platforms of CNN.

Fadallah had often praised suicide bombings – including one in 2008 which left eight students dead in a yeshiva in Israel. He was also fiercely anti-American.
