Star Wars is currently undergoing a new re-release. This time in 3D. The first film arrived in theaters this weekend, and with each release of the film series there are changes made that anger loyal Star Wars fans. George Lucas has spoken out about the criticism he has received about the changes he has made to the films over time, and he defends his actions. He said the following, according to NME on Sunday:

Changes are not unusual. I mean, most movies when they release them they make changes. But somehow, when I make the slightest change, everybody think it’s the end of the world.

The fan outrage has threatened boycotts in the past. Star Wars are strong in their beliefs, but Lucas further defends changes he has made by saying he is making changes to make the film ‘what it was meant to be.’

Fans are buzzing about Star Wars on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:

#starwars 3D. $38 and 3 hours I’ll never get back.

Scottsdale residents can see Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace at the Studio Movie Grill or another local theater in the area now.
