Wells Fargo Center, The Denver office of Ryley Carlock & Applewhite and its 41 attorneys and staff will move January 30 to the Wells Fargo Center at 1700 Lincoln, the firm announced today. It will take the entire 35th floor of the “cash register building,” the third-tallest building in Denver.

Last June, Ryley Carlock nearly doubled its size with the addition of a dozen attorneys, 10 of them partners, from Isaacson Rosenbaum, a 50-year-old law firm. The increase in numbers of attorneys which required more office and meeting space was just one reason for the move to the Wells Fargo Center according to Brian Nazarenus, managing shareholder for the Denver office.

“The economic landscape is improving, and the legal landscape is changing. Both favor our platform”

“The economic landscape is improving, and the legal landscape is changing. Both favor our platform,” said Nazarenus. “Although the regional economy is well below the peak performances of 2006 and 2007, we are seeing job trend improvement in Denver, healthy relocation of business to the Rocky Mountain region and growth in key sectors, including energy, financial services and information technology. This positive economic shift will position us for growth as we take on more assignments from new and existing clients and continue to build a solid regional law firm,” he said. “For those in a growth mode, this is a time of tremendous opportunity.”

“This move underscores our commitment to Denver and our focus on the people and businesses in the West,” said Rodolfo (Rudy) Parga Jr., Ryley Carlock managing partner.

According to Parga, many of the law firm’s practice areas are areas of strong growth in the Rocky Mountain region, including corporate and securities, water resources, environmental law, intellectual property and litigation. He sees growth potential for real estate as it regains its footing in the region.

The move follows a four-month modification and build-out of the 26,000 square foot space that will include more open areas, conference rooms and gathering spaces designed to accommodate the work of attorneys and clients and provide an unrestricted and friendly feel.

“We are delighted to be in a high-profile building in the heart of Denver. The building itself is iconic; people recognize it for its unique shape,” said Parga.

Ryley Carlock has earned high-level ratings for the firm, its attorneys and practice group in Denver from Chambers and Partners, US News and World Report’s Best Lawyers – Best Law Firms® and from Colorado Super Lawyers®. Three of those practice areas are Corporate & Securities, Real Estate and Water, Energy & the Environment.
