Scottish Deerhound, (AFP) – A massive search Scottish Deerhound beat the race favored by President Barack Obama and a crowd pleasing Cocker Spaniel get their hands on the top dog honors in New York at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Hickory, with the characteristic of her race slender legs, loping trot goatee, gray coat and wolf, was the best surprise winner, see end of canine beauty contest two days in Manhattan.

She beat six other finalists that included a Portuguese water dog – the breed chosen by Obama as his pet of the White House – a soft and a black Pekingese Cocker popular with the public arena of Madison Square Garden Spaniel.

“It’s just the feeling of a life,” said manager Angela Lloyd after the victory of her dog. She said the dog show aficionados’ dream of that day all their lives together and we’re here. ”

A total of 2,626 four-legged beauties, representing 179 breeds, have chased the elusive Best Show title. It was the first time a Scottish deerhound won the annual competition, which began in 1877.
