Moped:University of Kentucky football player Derrick Locke suffered a broken left forearm while driving a motorcycle on Thursday night, a British official said Friday.

The injury will not require surgery “at this time,” said spokesman Tony Neely.

Locke, a senior broker and broker of the Wildcats’ top back, will wear a splint for the next four weeks. Later, Locke will be re-evaluated.

“He was on his motorcycle last night,” said Neely. “She lost her balance. Was reaching down, he stopped with his left hand. In the process suffered a slight break in the ulna bone of left forearm near the wrist.”

Neely said the team is hoping Locke will be healthy when practice starts in August.

Locke led UK in rushing with 195 carries for 907 yards and six touchdowns. He caught 31 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns. Locke was also a specialist in kickoff return team with 639 yards and a touchdown.

His 152.5 yards per game were second in the Southeastern Conference.
