Michael Beasley Trade, The Los Angeles Lakers have made a move to upgrade at point guard, acquiring Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for their 2012 first-round pick, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The Lakers have been searching for a point guard for weeks, working out Gilbert Arenas and engaging in talks with the Trail Blazers for Raymond Felton. They had also been discussing a deal with the Charlotte Bobcats for D.J. Augustin, according to Yahoo! But Sessions, it appears. is their man.
The Lakers are also reportedly close to a three-way deal with Portland and Minnesota that would net them forward Michael Beasley from the Timberwolves. Steve Blake would go from L.A. to Portland, and Jamal Crawford would go from Portland to Minnesota under that deal.

For the Cavs, Sessions was considered expendable since they selected Kyrie Irving, the rookie of the year shoo-in, with the first pick in last June’s NBA Draft.

Even with his reduced role this season, Sessions has averaged 10.5 points and 5.2 assists per game. He’s shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from 3-point range.
