Crime Rates By City, CRIME incidence in the city is going down as compared to last year’s record, according to Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) chief, Senior Superintendent Marietto Valerio.

After receiving reports on crime volume in the 11 months of 2011 as compared to 2010 record, Valerio reported to city mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog the city police performance and operations posting 368 percent crime rate efficiency as compared to 2010.

The ICPO chief said there are 4,000 crime incidences during the period January to November 2011 as compared to more than double last year.

The improved crime rate efficiency was noted in the third and fourth quarter this year with only 212 wanted person arrested from January to November 2011.

Valerio said the city is following the nationwide trend of decreasing crime incidence by 18 percent due mainly to the implementation of the police integrated patrol system and police visibility.

The implementation of city ordinances on law and order also greatly helped in decreasing crime density.
