US Army All American BowlUS Army All American Bowl, The University of Miami has picked up a couple big commitments on Saturday, and lost out on another. 2:45 p.m. update: Tampa Jefferson High School defensive end Tyriq McCord (6-3, 222) pledged to Miami in somewhat of a surprise move. He was thought to be a South Carolina lean, and also visited Southern Cal. McCord is a four-star player, according to Rivals. He could easily make the move to linebacker in college.

2 p.m.: Linebacker Keith Brown, a standout at Miami Norland Senior High School, became the second player of the day to pick Louisville. Brown, a 6-1, 225 inside backer, was an original commit to the Hurricanes a year ago before backing off. He had been a target of both Florida, Florida State and Georgia, as well as Miami.

Miami was also in the running for ESPN four-star linebacker Nick Dawson (Berry HS in Charlotte, NC), but he opted for Louisville.

1:40 p.m.: Safety Deon Bush from Columbus High School in Miami, announced that he would stay home and play for the Hurricanes during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Bush, a 6-foot-1, 177-pounder, had dozens of offers, but picked Miami over Alabama and Auburn.

It was a bigger loss for Auburn than for the Crimson Tide. Alabama picked up a major commitment Thursday night at the Under Armour All-America Bowl from Landon Collins, the nation’s top-rated safety.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the country’s marquee prep all-star game.

Two Bolles players are playing for the East squad — offensive lineman John Theus (Georgia) and kicker Brooks Abbott.
