Truck Spills Liquid Fertilizer In Tualatin, Ore, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Hazardous Materials Team helped evaluate and coordinate the cleanup of a fertilizer spill at I-5 and Sagert Street in Tualatin Monday morning. The spill backed up traffic on I-205 all the way to West Linn.
A spill on Interstate 5 and Sagert Street in Tualatin snarled traffic Monday morning when a truck hauling 1,000 gallons of liquid fertilizer collided before 8 a.m. with another vehicle.
The fertilizer tank dislodged and leaked about 800 gallons of fertilizer onto the highway. No one was injured.
Two lanes of traffic were blocked on I-5 northbound just north of the Interstate 205 on-ramp.
Traffic on I-205 was backed up to West Linn. Traffic on I-5 north is slow to Wilsonville.
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Hazardous Materials Team worked with Oregon’s Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police, the state Department of Environmental Quality and the company that owns the truck to coordinate the cleanup.
