Tathagat Avatar TulsiTathagat Avatar Tulsi:Dr. Tathagata Avatar Tulsi (born September 9, 1987, Patna) is an Indian physicist, best known as a child prodigy. He finished high school at the age of nine years, earning a degree at the age of ten and a M.Sc. at the age of twelve. In August 2009, received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science at the age of 21. In 2010, he became the youngest member ever of the faculty at IIT Bombay, at the age of 22.

Tulsi in Controversy: received public attention in 2001 when he was selected by the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) to attend a conference of Nobel Laureates in Germany. Later, officials claimed that DST was a mistake that favorites, and I was a prodigy of “false.” Following the controversy, Tulsi suffered from depression, which he said cost him a seat at IIT PhD. He decided to “fight” to gain a doctorate, and recognition as a scientist.

Avatar Tulsi Tathagata completing his Ph.D.: Tulsi was admitted by the Indian Institute of Science (IIS), where he wrote a 33 pages long Ph.D. thesis on “Generalizations of quantum search algorithm.” He has the special distinction of being one of the youngest scientists in the world. At the age of 17 years, co-author of a research manuscript (“A new algorithm for fixed point quantum search”) with lov Grover, the inventor of a quantum search algorithm is in its name.

Dr. Tulasi joined IIT Bombay in July 2010 as a faculty member in the department of Physics. This became the youngest member ever of the faculty at IIT Bombay.
