The Hills FinaleThe Hills Finale:Imagine being a teenage girl in a coastal town in Southern California surrounded by “Alpha Girls” with the eyes of the guy who would die to date.

Thanks to Liz Gateley, you have to try so hard. She lived this life and partly inspired by a show called “Laguna Beach”, which later became MTV “The Hills.” As the show airs its final episode on Tuesday (July 13), she will know exactly how you feel, too.

“To see it come to an end is bittersweet,” Gateley, creator and executive producer of “The Hills” tells Zap2it. “But I feel very, very proud of the way we’re leaving and going to the top and proud of all the stories I told. The connection we have with our viewers has been unbelievable.”

What we can say that not having any of that for granted. “As a producer,” Gateley says. “It’s rare that you will work in your life in a show that cuts through such a big way. Therefore, it is quite surprising and tear jerking at the same time.”

Zap2it Gateley spoke about the decision to end the show, how it differed from what had originally imagined and the scene will never forget.

“Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” definitely broke ground on their shooting and editing style reality shows. How did it all come together?
It was the first time someone said we will have real life and turn it into filmed entertainment. We were inspired by several things, but one piece was my reference to “Heathers” in terms of the same kind of tone that could capture. But “Dawson’s Creek music in terms of a love triangle and how The WB when it started being used as a character. We knew we wanted to film and edit the program in a film, so a lot of time into the look told the story rather than dialogue.

Does the show ends a difficult decision?
Between seasons, me and [co-creator of Adam Divella] always ask, ‘Can we do one more? ” And at this juncture, we said this show is becoming a show that is not of age story that is more. That was a quick discussion.

Lauren Conrad was out was the coup de grace for the show?
Obviously, when Lauren decided to leave the show, we made a small revision. Where are we? Let’s see what happens in the lives of the remaining castmember. I really think Audrina [Patridge] was right in the center of this story is very convincing with Justin Bobby. And Heidi [Montag] and Spencer [Pratt] was just married. And Stephanie [Pratt] and Holly [Montag] still meet their respective new in-laws. And there was much more story to tell. Therefore, we feel strongly about it continuously and we were able to get two more seasons for the show from there. The spectators are in harmony and love the show, so I think it was the right decision.

You had said it expects the program ends with the wedding of Lauren. How do you feel the real one compare?
I think my dream was to marry Lauren One Tree Hill [‘] Stephen Colletti. That is not how life works out and we where the stories end was and is a different but equally good.

Many of the castmembers have been much more open in interviews about the “script” side of the show. Do you think that hurt the franchise at all?
At day’s end, has Kristen [Cavallari] was really coming out with Brody [Jenner]? Yes tabloid and say We sit in a corner and talk about it? Yes words are not manufactured by us. They are completely authentic to what the person is really feeling. It’s a bit like a teacher telling two children to resolve their disputes in a corner. What they say and what they feel is real. So how castmember corresponds to perceive them. I stand by that our test is what is really happening and if so, we keep it in. If not, then you are out.

Is there a specific scene from the series will always remember?
In “The Hills”, I think Lauren has always had the most amazing quotes and soundbites, which is his gift. And when she sat on her couch with Heidi and she said: “I want to forgive you and you want to forget.” It was at that moment that every girl can relate to. You want to think in his heart that this friendship is going to get any better, but you know it is not. And for Lauren to get to that line was so big.

Liz Gateley is in the process of developing a “Teen Wolf” Redux and the American version of the BBC teen series “Skins” for MTV.
