Thanksgiving Football

Thanksgiving Football, Welcome to Week 12 of the NFL season and with that comes one of the biggest treats on the football schedule: Thanksgiving Day football. We have our picks against the spread for these three holiday games. After stuffing your face with Thanksgiving goodness, you can set back on your couch and enjoy some fantastic football.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (+7): On paper it would seem this game is a total mismatch. Despite playing in the Motor City, the Lions have just one win in their last four games (against Denver) and are facing the unquestionably best team in the league. Honestly, we can’t really say why this line is only seven points.

Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys (-7): So Aaron Rodgers is a seven-point favorite over the Lions and the Cowboys are ALSO a seven-point favorite at home against the Dolphins? Is Vegas high on turkey already or perhaps they know that Miami has been playing better of late and for some reason don’t trust the Cowboys despite plus-ten margins of victory in their last three wins. Picks: Cowboys

San Francisco 49ers at Baltimore Ravens (-3): This is the game everyone will be waiting for. Fellas, start talking to the Thanksgiving dinner planner at your house now to make sure the eating is done before this evening game comes on. You are not going to want to miss a second of this one. In fact, we highly recommend eating around half time of the Miami – Dallas game which will give you some time to digest and be ready for seconds to be eaten in front of the TV.

As for the game, it’s a true toss up. The 49ers have played fantastic football but at times have trouble moving the ball. They could easily get bogged down against the stiff Ravens defense. Baltimore has laid some serious eggs this season but they’ve also gotten up for the big game and this will certainly qualify. The three-point home advantage for the Ravens is a smart line and makes this a tough pick. When in doubt, go home
