Go Cowboys Execution, Convicted child molester Jesse Joe Hernandez, 47, shouted “Go Cowboys!” in support of his football team after receiving a lethal injection in Texas on Wednesday. Hernandez was found guilty of beating to death a ten-month-old infant he was babysitting.

MSNBC reports Hernandez was in apparent high spirits as he faced execution. He smiled, laughed as he received the lethal injection for a crime he committed 11 years ago. “God bless everybody,” he said after he had been injected. “Continue to walk with God.” Then he shouted “Go Cowboys!” Huffiington Post reports that as the lethal drugs took effect, he said his appreciation to those gathered to witness his execution. “Love y’all, man…Thank you. I can feel it, taste it. It’s not bad.”

According to MSNBC, Hernandez took several deep breaths before he died. The Washington Post reports he was pronounced dead ten minutes after the injection, at 6:18 p.m. CDT. According to The Washington Post, this is not the first time a condemned criminal used his last breath to voice support of his favorite team. In 2007, Robert Cromer shouted “Go Raiders!” after a lethal injection, and James Filiaggi, Browns fan, said he would use magical powers to get Cleveland to the Super Bowl before he was executed.
