Stone Roses TourStone Roses Tour, The Stone Roses finally put to rest rumors Monday, announcing that they will reunite for a world tour in 2012, the first time they have played together in 15 years.

In a press release Tuesday, the band said they will play two concerts at Heaton Park in Manchester, England on June 29 and 30 next year, before a world tour and possibly a new album.

The four original members – singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, drummer Alan “Reni” Wren and Gary “Mani” Mounfield – attended the news conference at a hotel in Soho in London.

The exhibition will be the band’s first since splitting in 1996, and come despite statements by former band members’ many times over the years that the band never would reunite.

Brown and Squire have been for a long time away, but Escudero, said, “Everything changed when I started seeing Ian and again was surreal .. We went from crying and laughing about old times to write new songs a heartbeat in some way is a friendship that defines the two and needed fixing. Two phone calls later, the band was not dead. ”

Brown said: “If we do not think we had it in we would not be sitting here … we have children, we do not want shown. There is nobody in the world who can play as all three together.”

For its part, Mounfield said, “I lost the humor of these guys. It’s like a comedy act of rolling something magical happens when we are together in one room.”

Mix the Stone Roses’ rock pychedelic, pop hooks and acid house sensibility helped make them one of the most influential British bands of the late eighties and early nineties, paving the way for the likes of Oasis.

Their self-titled album, first released in 1989, was hailed as one of the best debuts in the history of pop. His 1994 follow-up late in “The Second Coming” received warm reviews, and Wren left the band shortly after in early 1995.

Escudero, and a year later and the band officially disbanded after a disastrous performance at the Reading Festival in 1996.

The band members became reasonably successful – Brown as a solo artist, Mounfield join Primal Scream, and the landowner as a member of seahorses and then as a visual artist.

But talk of a meeting has not disappeared, despite Brown at one point saying, “No chance … not in the next three lives” and landowner of the creation of a work of art with the caption: “I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses “.
