Maryland Bay Restoration Fund, Maryland environmental working group is considering doubling or tripling of the state flush fee as part of efforts to restore the Chesapeake Bay.
Property owners already pay in Maryland and 30 year in a Restoration Fund of the Bay. The working group is considering a proposal to double the number in 2013 and increased to 90 and in 2015.
The restoration fund is aimed at improving plant wastewater treatment and prevention of agricultural pollutants from running into waterways that empty into the bay.
The working group met on Tuesday in Annapolis. The proposed fees color, is scheduled to be discussed at two meetings this year.
