SNL: Steve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire star Steve Buscemi took the stage as host of Saturday Night Live for the second time on Dec. 3. Miley Cyrus, Batman, Dateline, and Christmas were among the topics skewered by Buscemi and the SNL cast. In his opening monologue, Busemi talked about his transition from character actor to the leading man of an HBO series. He took questions from “audience members” like the “magical black character,” a “sassy female judge,” Andy Samberg as the “Hey Bro” guy and Kristen Wiig as the “horror girl movie girl who can’t find her friends,” and advised them how to make the transition themselves.

Miley Cyrus’ pot-smoking reputation was tackled during a “Miley Cyrus Show” segment in which Cyrus was portrayed as, well, a stoner. She talks about her 19th birthday cake incident — in which she reportedly said, “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake” — during a skit called “The Miley Cyrus Show.”After denying that she smokes marijuana, she munches on a big bag of Doritios.

Her first guest on the show, played by Buscemi, was described as a guy she met at Burning Man. With a shaggy hair wig and sarape over Buscemi’s shoulders, the two unveil the video to their sitar-tinged song, “Dancin’ with Dogs.” Whitney Houston (played by Maya Rudolph) then appears on the show and implores. “Don’t do drugs.”
