SEA Games Medals, Malaysia won a silver and three bronze medals on the final day of the sailing event of the SEA Games.

Mohd Romzi Muhamad won the silver in the Laser Class Radial event. He received 22 demerit points.

Keerati Bualong of Thailand won gold with 13 points while Choo Jian Jie of Singapore won the bronze with 26 pts.

Nur Amirah Hamid won the bronze medal in the Laser Class radial recording h 23 demerit points.

The gold went to Chan Jing Hun of Singapore with 13 points while Kamolwan Chanyim of Thailand took the silver with 18 points.

Ahmad Syukri Abd Aziz won the bronze in the Optimist Class with 32 demerit points while Sarawut Phetsiri of Thailand took the silver with 25 points.

Yuki Yokoya of Singapore took the gold medal with 12 pts.

The third bronze was won by Ku Anas Ku Zamil/Mohamad Hafizuddin Mazelan who scored 24 points in International 470 Class event.

Russel Kan Tsung/Koh Seng Kiat of Singapore won gold with 15 points while Ridgely Balldares/Chaves Rommel of Philippines took the silver with 17 points.

Malaysian team manager Lawrence Yeow said it was unfortunate that the team failed to win two gold medals like that at Korat SEA Games.

“The Singaporean sailors are fast improving while most of the Malaysian sailors are competing in their first SEA Games,” he said.

The sailing squad won two gold, two silver and 4 bronze medals at 2007 Korat SEA Games. The event was not offered at 2009 Laos SEA Games.
