Saddest MovieSaddest Movie, Clip of the new 1979 version of the film The Champ, starring Jon Voight as a boxer and a little Ricky Schroeder as his son. The end of the film features a scene (which is in the final minutes of the clip above) where the character Voight, Champ, dies in front of your child, and hopefully emotionally. The film received little fanfare in the long term, but there are two notable legacies of the Champ: 1) Ricky Schroder and 2) a scene that has proven very sad that scientists have been able to use in many experiments on mental health people
In 1988, a professor of psychology at the University of California-Berkeley, Robert Levenson, and a graduate student, James Gross (which is converted to a professor at Stanford University), began to look short clips of movies that could provoke strong emotional reactions of test subjects in psychological experiments. After years of wading through hundreds of recommendations, then test them to undergraduates, researchers were able to finally select 16 clips of movies that always aroused key emotions (sad, and disgust, joy, anger, etc.) in the audience, the scene of the Champ to take the first place to stir the emotions sad.

The clip has been used in experiments ranging from testing the responses of tears of depressed people, the elderly and people with eating disorders to track the spending habits of people sad.

However, over the slate has been pointed out that the final list of the clips was liquidated in 1995 – and a lot of great scenes, emotional film have come and gone since then. They are taking suggestions from the latest movie scenes and sad original investigator of the study, Levens, will be putting their two cents on the contenders.
