Brandon Jackson, The Jets not only experienced a humiliating defeat in his first game at home, but they also lost a key component of their title run potential. Nose guard Chris Jenkins blew out the ACL for the second time in two years, and is performed during the year. New York is relying on its defense to carry them, as they did last season.

Indianapolis also lost last week. It took the Colts to lose fifteen weeks last year, but this year he accomplished the feat in the first week of the season. As was the case with the Jets, Indy lost a player who has spent much of his time on the sidelines the last couple of years. Bob Sanders is out indefinitely for the Colts.

The Colts, Green Bay and the Jets all had short betting odds to win the Super Bowl coming into this year, but the odds are sure to get longer after the transgressions of one week. The Patriots running back situation has not changed much, so the loss of Maroney should not affect the odds Pats. Knowshon Moreno has Denver, as its starting tailback, as well as Maroney should not alter your chances much.

Fantasy football owners have been trying to trace the lead back in New England; will be this year received a glimpse into the future on Tuesday. Laurence Maroney was sent to Denver in a trade, leaving Fred Taylor as the clear again to own in New England.

The odds of several teams moved this afternoon when news of the week an injury to the surface. Great teams affected by the season-opening injury were the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. All three teams suffered injuries to star the season’s players.

Dimitri Nance, The broker Dimtri Nance was signed by the Green Bay Packers against the practice squad on Tuesday Falcons.

Nance lost a competition for a roster spot with running back Antone Smith. After clearing waivers, he signed with the team’s practice squad on September 5.

After playing four years at Arizona State and ran for 1.934 yards and 19 touchdowns, Nance was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent rookie from April 26

He was an early star of the preseason running for two touchdowns in the 20-10 victory over Kansas City.

The Packers were in the market for the operation of depth back Ryan Grant suffered a right ankle injury that he will miss the remainder of the 2010 season.

In open terrain, offensive lineman Rob Bruggeman was signed to the practice squad.

Laurence Maroney

Laurence Maroney, The Patriots [team stats] sent running back Laurence Maroney [Statistics] for the Broncos in the draft in exchange for compensation unknown, the Herald has confirmed.

The Patriots get fourth round of Denver in 2011, while delivering his own sixth rounder next year. Maroney is in the final year of his contract.

The first-round draft pick, who always promised but never fulfilled, will be able to start again with the Broncos in a deal that was first reported by ESPN.com ‘s Adam Schefter.

Maroney was held out of the first game with a thigh injury nagging, I said yesterday: “Are you happy with the win, I’m glad to see my team win, but being a competitor, just wanted to be there, and help. If I could have been there, everyone knows that there, big smile and all. ”

Instead, Maroney is in Denver.

The Patriots running back Fred Taylor [Statistics] last Sunday, and seems to be the case all season. Taylor rushed for 71 yards on 14 carries, but he has not played a full season since 2003. Maroney ends his career with 582 carries for 2.430 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Brandon Jackson, Green Bay officials keeping up the pace in reorganizing their backfield Tuesday in the wake of learning that offer Ryan Grant suffered a final-season ankle injury. Backup Brandon Jackson is now pressed into the starting role, but it will help in managing workload Grant.

Jackson, struggling through a concussion and a shin injury, showed some pop as a rookie, and next to the Packers two options in the backfield ’07-Vernand Morency and DeShawn Wynn, both were frustrated by injuries knee. Starting fullback John Kuhn was used in the goal line to score a rushing touchdown.

“I thought it was a good solid performance for Brandon,” said coach Mike McCarthy told reporters. “(He) broke a bunch of stuff. We had four runs explosive, which is exceptional and that’s a big credit to Brandon.”

Nance, a former high school superstar from Texas who starred at Arizona State, just did not make the roster for the Falcons. At one time in the camp, thought he could compete with Jerious Norwood for the land behind starter Michael Turner.

The Packers play directed by Jackson ‘running should be a great day away in the first team home game Sunday against Buffalo. The Bills’ defense ranked 30th against last season and resigned to run 132 yards rushing for Miami’s Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in week 1.
