Roy Williams, North Carolina was ranked No. 1 in the preseason in part because of stability – all five starters returned from a team that reached the Elite Eight in 2011.

UNC reached the Elite Eight again this season before losing to Kansas Sunday, but this time there is expected to be major turnover.

ACC player of the year Tyler Zeller will graduate, while junior John Henson, sophomores Harrison Barnes and Kendall Marshall and freshman James Michael McAdoo are all projected as first-round picks in this year’s NBA draft.

Williams said on his coaches show Monday night that he would try to speak to all the UNC players this week, including the ones who might go pro.

“I’ll bring those guys in and just see what they’re thinking, and I’ll start my calls around the NBA teams to get as much information as I can, and try to at least get the process started this week,” Williams said.

ESPN’s Chad Ford has all four UNC players ranked between 8-17 on his NBA draft board. NBADraft.net and Draft Express also have Barnes, Henson and Marshall among their top 16.

Barnes, Marshall and McAdoo all said on Sunday that they weren’t thinking about their futures yet.

“I don’t think anyone’s looking that far because we all had anticipations of going to (the Final Four in) New Orleans,” Barnes said.

Henson acknowledged that he would start by talking with his family “and just go from there.”
