Rob Lowe, Drew PetersonRob Lowe, Drew Peterson, Rob Lowe is nearly unrecognizable in Lifetime’s original movie Drew Peterson: Untouchable, airing Saturday at 8 p.m.

The film is based on Chicago-area police officer Drew Peterson and the mysterious disappearance of his wives.

According to the Lifetime synopsis, Peterson (Lowe) seemed virtually “untouchable” when it came to womanizing ways, having been married three times before landing Stacy Cales (Kaley Cuoco), a woman half his age.

As Peterson’s relationship with Stacy blossoms, his relationship with third wife Kathleen Savio (Cara Buono, Mad Men) unravels in a bitter divorce – until Kathleen is inexplicably found dead in an empty bathtub.

Soon after Peterson makes Stacy his fourth wife and they have their first child, his jealousy and controlling ways begin to strain their marriage. Suddenly Stacy disappears, leaving her two children and Peterson’s older children behind. Peterson insists that Stacy left him for another man, but questions arise.

The real-life Peterson, 58, is charged with murdering Savio, who was found dead in a dry bathtub in 2004. Officials initially ruled the death an accidental drowning, but authorities reopened the case after Stacy Peterson vanished in October 2007.

Now, Peterson, who has being held at the Will County Detention Center since his 2009 arrest and is awaiting trial, may not be able to watch the movie.

The Chicago Tribune reports that there are only six televisions, and they all are turned to the same channel. The on-duty officer is in charge of the remote control, but takes suggestions from inmates, a sheriff’s spokeswoman tells the Tribune. Persuading them to switch from the Chicago Bulls game to a Lifetime movie might be tough.
