Rick Warren And Tebow Mormons Gay Marriage, Pastor Rick Warren sat down with ABC News for an Easter Sunday interview to discuss his beliefs. Host Jake Tapper and the megachurch pastor and best-selling author touched on many issues – including Tim Tebow, Mormons and Gay Marriage. On gay marriage, the pastor said churches should follow doctrine.

Rick Warren stood by his opposition to same sex marriage in an Easter Sunday interview on ABC’s “This Week,” saying that he does not believe the church should conform to accept growing support for same sex marriage.

“History shows that when the church accommodates culture, it weakens it,” Warren said.

The Christian Post notes that Mormonism has become a controversial topic with the presidential candidacy of Mitt Romney.

ABC Host Jake tapper asks, “Mitt Romney will almost certainly be the Republican nominee, and if that happens, as it looks like it will, he’ll the first member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to be the nominee. A lot of evangelicals have been talking about whether or not Mormons are Christians. Are Mormons Christians?”

Pastor Warren answers: “Well, the key sticking point for evangelicals and actually for many is the issue of the Trinity. Orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, Protestant Christians, evangelical Christians and Pentecostal Christians all believe in the Trinity; that’s the historic doctrine of the church, that God is three-in-one. Not three gods; one God in Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
