Howard Hanna, Brackenridge Heights Country Club is for sale.

The club, founded in 1914, includes a golf course with nine holes, a pool and clubhouse. Moved into the residential neighborhoods in Harrison Natrona Heights section.

The sale price, and 2.1 million.

Don Frederick of New Kensington, country club president, said membership has declined.

“We will have a meeting with our members (today) and determine which direction we go,” he said.

Federico estimates capital club members – who are full members make use of all facilities, including golf, pool and dining area – has been reduced by 25 percent to 33 percent in the last five or six years.

A member equity requires an initiation fee and 1000, the fees are and 250 per month for one person, and 260 for couples and families and 300.

“It just seems that today’s younger families have other interests that make it more difficult for them to be full-time members of golf,” he said.

“If you go out and golf 18 holes, which is three to 3 1 / 2 hours, and how families are structured now, I do not know if they have that kind of time.”

The club also offers membership and dinner at 20 months, members of the pool and 300 for families and non-equity platinum membership with unlimited golf for a family rate of 280 per month.

The club has a golf course open to the public at reduced green fees.

“It’s a little open house thing where we’re trying to get the public out and prove it,” said Frederick. “We believe it is as good as any other golf course in everything.”

Cost Anthony, who is responsible for the list of Howard Hanna Commercial, said it was the first time I had a country club for sale.

“It’s a beautiful property, beautiful,” said Coste. “We’re trying to market and the interest of members, leave it as a golf course, whether private or public.”

Marketing of the facility for the development of other such housing is high, he said.

“We had no interest at this time,” said Coste. “One drawback is that I think it will be difficult to obtain bank financing for a golf course in this economy.”
