Preacher: Peyton Injury Would Be Justice, Mess around with Tim Tebow and you might not get struck by lightning, but you’ll have to deal with one boiling hot televangelist. Pat Robertson wouldn’t mind seeing new Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning suffer an injury for replacing Tebow in the Mile High City. The leader of the Christian Right movement in America said Peyton Manning getting hurt on the field “would serve them right,” for treating Tebow “shabbily.”

No, these comments weren’t made on ESPN or the NFL Network, Robertson voiced his displeasure with the deal that sent the former Florida Gators star to the New York Jets on “The 700 Club.”

“The Denver Broncos treated him shabbily,” Robertson said via FoxSports.com. “He won seven games, he brought them [Denver] into the playoffs, for heaven sakes. I mean, they were a nothing team. He rallied them together with spectacular last-minute passes and, you know, when they beat Buffalo – I mean, Pittsburgh, excuse me – it was a tremendous victory.”

Later on, Robertson pointed out Manning, with four surgeries on his neck, has some serious health concerns he brings to Denver.

“And you just ask yourself, OK, so Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he’s been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right,” he said.
