Peyton Manning Rumors

Peyton Manning Rumors, Where will Peyton go? That’s the biggest off-season question of all and the Kansas City Chiefs are just a number of teams that could possibly be involved in landing the quarterback. Manning is bound to go somewhere other than Indianapolis this off-season and Adam Schefter says that the Miami Dolphins could be labeled early favorites at this stage to land the soon-to-be free agent. Then again, his reasons are a bit odd.

Schefter writes, “The team that is the favorite in my mind to land Manning is Miami. The Dolphins can offer warm weather and a favorable contract, and the team has been screaming for a franchise quarterback since Dan Marino left. Make Miami the favorite for now. But we’ve already seen what being a favorite meant to New England in this Super Bowl.”

Warm weather? Favorable contract? There are a number of teams — from the Chiefs to the Redskins — who can offer as much money or more than Miami. Warm weather should not play a part if the team around Manning would be horrible. If anything, the Chiefs have the skill positions up and ready for a quarterback like Manning to use — from a young exciting tight end to a dynamic running game to very capable receivers. It’s essentially a plug-and-play.

Peyton Manning Rumors, There has been speculation that the Miami Dolphins could be a potential landing spot for potential soon-to-be free agent quarterback, Peyton Manning.

The Dolphins have been rumored to be very interested in acquiring Manning, and the Dolphins made our own list of potential suitors for Manning’s services weeks ago.

According to Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins are on Manning’s “short list” of desired landing spots.

Per the report, Manning and his wife own a house in Florida, and would be open to a permanent move if the fit is right.

The real question at the moment is exactly who else is on that list of Manning’s, but for now we’ll have to settle with rumors suggesting which way he could be leaning. If Manning was serious about Miami, he’d at least be walking into a solid situation, as the team caught fire at the end of the 2011 season, and boasts a quality offensive line and an elite number one receiver in Brandon Marshall.

With the acquisition of Manning and possibly Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and/or Dallas Clark, the Dolphins could quickly turn from an average team that competes in most game to a playoff contender that might have a shot at competing for a Super Bowl.

Everyone knows that anything from now until a potential release from the Indianapolis Colts is pure speculation. Then again, until Manning’s neck fully recovers and his throwing strength returns, speculation about his career in general is mostly in vain.

But if/when he’s healthy, it looks like the Dolphins at least have a shot at landing him for the 2012 season and beyond. And for a team that hasn’t had stability at the most important position on the football field since Dan Marino, that’s all you can ask for right about now.
