Peoples Choice AwardsPeoples Choice Awards, The People have spoken loud and clear and Demi Lovato is it!  The Tex-Mex singer dazzled at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards as she took home the Swarovski-like trophy for “Favorite Pop Artist”, Wednesday night.

“I dedicate this to you [fans],” Lovato said as she received her award. ” You guys are absolutely amazing. I love you guys so much.”

The ceremony, which highlights Hollywood figures in television, movies and music, was held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.

Lovato was all smiles in a cherry red gown as she emerged onstage to perform her latest single “Give Your Heart a Break.”

The singer takes home the award just as rumors swirled Wednesday morning in various gossip sites that she and fellow Latino actor Wilmer Valderrama no longer have a fling.

Lovato also made headlines recently for her philanthropy initiatives.

The “Skyscraper” star’s latest Public Service Announcement (PSA) focuses on the homelessness issue among teens in the United States.

Lovato, who was nominated as one of the most involved celebrities of 2011 on DoSomething.org’s website, urges teens to get involved with the organization’s “Teen for Jeans” campaign.

Part -Boricua singer Bruno Mars also won big taking the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Male Artist.”

The “Grenade” star beat heavy hitters in the music industry such as Spanish heart throb Enrique Iglesias, Eminem, Blake Shelton and Selena Gomez’s man Justin Bieber.

Despite ditching the ceremony last minute, Katy Perry, who is going through a divorce with comedia Russell Brand and was rumored to have a fling with Mexican actor Diego Luna, sweeped the awards with five wins.

Perry won the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Female Artist,” “Favorite Song of the Year,” “Favorite Music Video,” and “Favorite Tour Headliner,” and “TV Guest Star.”

The “I Kissed a Girl” singer beat new mom Beyonce, British crooner Adele and Mama Monster Lady Gaga, although Gaga took home the award for “Favorite Album of the Year” for “Born This Way.”
