Humble ISD Livestock Show & Rodeo is expanding its musical horizon this year for a typical country and bluegrass Texas to surprise, electronic-pop.

Three men Houston, Jake Carfield, Jason Barton and Vincent Sol Campos, formed the band iDreaminstereo after discovering each other musical talents to work in the restaurant industry. All three works for the chain of Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurants in Humble and Houston were friends first, and then discovered shared musical talent.

Carfield sings lead and is now finding there is a steep learning curve with the self-taught guitar. Barton plays guitar and does not beat back, with Sol Campos, whose roles are piano, bass and serving as manager of the group.

The three bonded over their love of music and once they found that Carfield could carry a tune, the band was set in motion. Their musical influences are broad, ranging from the Beatles to new wave as MGMT, the Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie.

“The age of technology in the music moves quickly and we spent much time teaching us new methods and making cool sounds and music that people may have never heard before,” said Carfield.

IDreaminstereo is local, playing in restaurants and local charity events, but really hope that the reading of a large audience at the rodeo, where people may not have heard their music before, could project their group in a market larger.

The group plans to release an EP / demo of six songs in the coming months and will give more shows in 2011 throughout the Houston area.

IDreaminstereo play on Humble Rodeo BBQ Cook-off Saturday, Feb. 5. To hear some of their songs, learn more about the band or contact information, visit www.facebook.com / idreaminstereo.
