Steve Jones And Nicole Scherzinger Fired From X Factor

March 7, 2012 by · Comments Off on Steve Jones And Nicole Scherzinger Fired From X Factor

Steve Jones And Nicole Scherzinger Fired From X Factor, The X Factor news came fast and furious on Monday night — first, that host Steve Jones would not be returning, then that judge Nicole Scherzinger was exiting (both confirmed by Fox) and finally, according to sources, that Paula Abdul also would be shown the door. Now The Hollywood Reporter has learned that all of these major show decisions are coming from one key confab held in the U.K.

According to a show insider, a series of X Factor season 2 offsite meetings are taking place wherein show creator Simon Cowell has assembled his team and creative brain-trust for a post-mortem. The purpose: detailing what went wrong and what was done right on season 1 of the Fox singing competition.

Among the brash verdicts, says THR’s source: that Abdul’s role was seen as “irrelevant to the mix,” in part through no fault of her own (as mentor to the groups, her contestants were picked off early in the competition).

Still, Abdul was not without her controversies on the show. Many blamed her for the dismissal of season 1 favorite Rachel Crow, precipitated by advice Abdul gave to Scherzinger to let the decision be made by the public vote. America then sent the 13-year-old packing.

As for Jones and Scherzinger, another show insider says the X Factor host was notified by a show producer around 7:30pm Eastern on Monday evening that his option was not being picked up. (Cowell did not call Jones personally to deliver the news.) Soon after, Scherzinger was informed that her contract also would not be renewed.

On the show, both had weathered their share of viewer criticism; Scherzinger even received death threats after she and Abdul voted to send finalist Drew Ryniewicz home. Jones’ handling of contestant eliminations, which some deemed insensitive, also came under fire as unscripted reactions became increasingly emotional.

Solid Gold Dancers

Solid Gold Dancers, Every few years a new trend saturates the design industry, and this year we were hit hard with one. As I gear for the furniture market is held twice a year in High Point, North Carolina, to schedule meetings with my suppliers, I the most important. I prioritize tasks; I’m looking for based on customer demand. But mostly I’m looking to find The Next Best Thing; this trend does not affect the chain stores for a few years.

Right now, everywhere you look is gray. Retailers do business, and although it has been a trend with designers for a few years he was very popular market in October. Most vendors I talked to seem to think that this trend will be around a few years.

During my visit to the Global Views showroom, my agent informed me the company’s decision to use gray with accents of lemon in his front room display. Just downstairs in the International Home Furnishings Market, a 12-story building with 3.5 million square feet of showroom, we could see traces of gray everywhere. A new line, Mr. Brown, a subsidiary of the line designer Julian Chichester was using gray with accents of green, pink and lemon.

A trip to the showroom Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has confirmed that the company had been influenced by shades of gray as well. MG + BW have its own building of 24,000 square meters which houses most of the collection at the market. The showroom is available for a number of things: being almost obsessively well preserved and presented with impeccable service and men in black with white everywhere else.

Mitchell and Bob (yes, they are real people) believe in letting their furniture stand out and set the mood for settings. The showroom has two levels and usually 13 to 15 vignettes of furniture placed on each floor in the living room or in environments present new products and fabrics as well as current inventory.

The first half of my appointment he went along business as usual. Then we took the stairs to the second level, and I was transported in Moody, dark chocolate and surrounding gray. Even the floors were painted gray! After so many years of white floors, this trend has been big enough to take note.

Thank you for the current trend, but the thought has crossed my mind that it was a bit exaggerated. Gray is beginning to depress me frankly. Having seen this look everywhere I turned, I was ready for something to stand out in the sea of gray.

Fortunately, my luck has changed when I visited the showroom Oly. I had a hunch was confirmed: Gold is the new gray. A plush, mohair gold had been introduced with a beautiful hand carved wooden chest covered in natural brass, illuminating a beautiful luster of gold. The gold is bright and vibrant, and in my opinion, it goes with everything. There were even “Solid Gold” dancers at the party Oly showroom after hours.

If the big box stores do, you can almost guarantee that I will not. Rather than go home for the district of KC “gray train,” I felt inspired by the idea of brewing rich, vibrant color that is breathing life into a space.

Do not worry, though. I always have a fondness for gray and gold and gray look in other colors, living in harmony.

Live To Dance Judges

Live To Dance Judges, Once again, she’s choc-a-bloc full of “I came to teach people what oozes out of you” and “When the hair on my arm stands up and I get goosebumps, you have me!” Only this time, instead of playing Loopy Den Mother to thousands upon thousands of young wannabe pop stars, she’s spewing her love on precocious moppet zombie dancers and botoxed “Solid Gold” relics.

Her new dance competition series, “Live to Dance,” debuted Tuesday night on CBS and is based on the British show “Got to Dance.”

Really, CBS? You couldn’t clear “Got”?

Paula was joined by co-judges Kimberly Wyatt – who is a founding member of the P**ycat Dolls and who might want to rethink that hair – and Travis Payne, who, we were told, choreographed with the late, great King of Pop Michael Jackson. Wanna bet he talks about his dear friend Michael Jackson at least once per episode?

“I love Paula so much! Oh my gosh!” gushed one of the many people we were told turned out to audition for the show in Dance Domes across the country.

“We’re here to bring it – for Paula!” raved another.

“We love you, Paula!” screamed a troupe of precocious moppets.

Tuesday’s show began with adorable 9-year-old Jaylon, who has never been to a dance class but has learned his bag o’ moves from watching people who dance in movies, he explained while his dad sobbed buckets of tears. Jaylon handed Dad a tissue. Each judge gave Jaylon a gold star – two or more gold stars would get him through to the next round.

“You are an amazing bright light to this show and this is exactly what this show is about,” Paula exuded.

“There is so much joy coming out of this little face of yours, I just want to squeeze it. When you smile and you put that character into your movement, it is pure magic. Do you know you make so many people happy – are you aware of that?” she barked at Jaylon.

Lorenzo von Matterhorn

kali-hawkWondering why ‘Kali Hawk,’ ‘Carlos Estevez,’ and ‘Lorenzo von Matterhorn’ are surging in Google Trends? We can shed some light on the mystery. Google Trends provides the hottest keywords of the hour. Though the results change frequently, the list offers a snapshot of what’s hot in the world of entertainment news. Here’s what’s steamin’ tonight…

Lorenzo von Matterhorn – ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is clearly a very popular show. “The Playbook” (Season 5, episode 8) aired Monday night, and Barney’s (Neil Patrick Harris) pickup secrets came out into the open. The Lorenzo Von Matterhorn is just one strategy, where the pickup artist creates an extensive body of fake praise and publicity online, acts humbled when a potential mate hasn’t heard of him, and then tells her to hit Google to figure him out. Fans have been Googling, but “Lorenzo Von Matterhorn” just redirects to the episode page on Wikipedia. And you thought the dude was a big deal.

Ken Ober – “I remember the first time it hit me,” Ken Ober said of realizing he was known as a game show host first, entertainer second. “I was in a supermarket line reading ‘TV Guide,’ and it said ‘Ken Ober, comma, TV game show host.’ And I said, ‘Oh, no, I’m a game show host.'” The 52-year-old face of MTV’s ‘Remote Control’ was found dead today at his home in Santa Monica. He’ll be remembered for helping to bring MTV into the mainstream, and yes, for being a game show host.

New Moon Premierre Live Stream – ‘New Moon’ premieres in Los Angeles Monday night and the event is getting the full 21st century VIP treatment. There’s a live video stream of the red carpet on MySpace. Dozens of entertainment writers are live blogging and tweeting about who looks hot, who brought who, and who showed up unexpected. It’s a media bloodbath and gosh is it delicious.

Lady Gaga Dead – Faking celebrity deaths is a traffic win. It’s entirely illegal and unethical, but it makes business sense. Lady Gaga is not dead. In fact, she hitched a ride aboard the space shuttle Atlantis on today’s International Space Station supply mission to determine if bubble wrap is fashionable in zero gravity. OK, that’s not true, either. And that won’t even get us any traffic. Damn.

Kali Hawk – Is it true that all publicity is good publicity? ‘Couples Retreat’ producers are about to find out. Universal Pictures is catching flack for removing the black couple (actors Faizon Love and Kali Hawk) from the movie’s UK poster. A studio rep told the Daily Mail that removing Love and Hawk wasn’t racially motivatted, but necessary to focus on “actors who are most recognizable in international markets.” ‘Couples Retreat’ has already grossed over $100 million in the US. We’ll see if this renewed interest in the film kicks it into blockbuster status out of theaters.

Carlos Estevez – You’ve probably already guessed who we’re talking about here. Unlike older brother Emilio, Carlos Irwin Estevez took on his father’s stage name at an early age. Emilio opted to blaze his own path to fame unhindered by the expectations that go along with being a Sheen. Both strategies worked. Emilio is one of the iconic faces of ’80s cinema. Charlie is one of the iconic faces of ’00s TV. Emilio was married to Paula Abdul. Charlie was married to Denise Richards. Emilio coached the Mighty Ducks. Charlie played Topper Harley in ‘Hot Shots!’ The Estevez/Sheen bros can be proud of what they’ve done.
