Outside LandsOutside Lands:It only took 19 years, but Phil Lesh, Bob Weir and – of both the Grateful Dead – will return to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco this August with his most recent incarnation of the Dead, Furthur. His headlining set will be a part of the third edition of the Festival of Music, Outside Lands, which also features headliners on Sunday night Kings of Leon and The Strokes anchor bands, My Morning Jacket and Phoenix. Outside Lands takes place on August 14 and 15 and will once again spotlight the best in the Bay Area, in terms of wine, food, technology and, of course, music.

Keep in shape with its two previous editions, will host all lands outside, from icons and rock royalty (Al Green, Levon Helm) to emerging talent (Dawes, Beats old) and all others (Social Distortion , Gogol Bordello). additional acts including Wolfmother, Bassnectar, Chromeo, pretty lights, The Temper Trap and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Also of note: The Empire of the Sun, who have only played a handful of live dates ever, are in the bill. For a full list, visit the official website of the festival.

Outside Lands held in the heart of Golden Gate Park, a family atmosphere Lesh and Weir on his days with the Grateful Dead – The band used to play regularly in the park late 60s and early 70s. The last time he had conducted in 1991 in a memorial tribute to Bill Graham. His performances in the park and its adjacent Panhandle were legendary, but they were free, were freaky and were places where people could freely freak. Two of these three elements will be transferred to lands outside – tickets go on sale Wednesday.
