Nyseg Power Outages, The local energy companies are sticking with midnight Wednesday as the time that electricity must be restored to most customers in the counties of Westchester and Putnam.

RG $ E, said spokesman Jim Salmon 90 percent of utility customers should have power by then, and few have the power to end on Friday.

John Maserjian CenHud spokesman said the vast majority of its 85,000 customers without power as of Monday morning will be back online by late Wednesday, but that does not mean they will not return soon. CenHud serves several communities in western and northern Putnam.

“We are very fortunate to have the mutual aid that arrived last night,” he said. “Two hundred linemen have come from Albany, Long Island and Chattanooga, TN. We have a field strength of 500 today.”

Maserjian also wanted to remind families preparing for trick or treating tonight trips possible that the areas are still dark and visibility is limited. There are still tangled in downed trees and, as always, any downed line should be treated as a high voltage cable.

RG $ E is the addition of new capacity to monitor their storm center online.

“We will be adding to our website this afternoon, the estimated times of restoration of individual cities,” said Salmon. “Customers can go to our section www.nyseg.com Central Interruption and will be able to find what their estimated recovery time is.”
