Governor-elect Chris Christie is inherting an $8 billion or more budget hole for 2011, state unemployment nearing double digits, the upward of $100 billion in debt and unfunded pension and health-care obligations – conditions he admits will be difficult to handle, according to the Daily Record.

Though Republicans now have the states of New Jersey and Virginia, it does not seem to be the beginning of a new “GOP era.” Voters felt that Republicans simply had the better candidates according to CQ Politics.

Hoboken mayoral candidate Everton Wilson has returned to Jamaica due to medical difficulties, yesterday, according to Jersey Journal writer Claire Moses.
