Nicollette Sheridan Trial, Nicollette Sheridan created real-life drama on the “Desperate Housewives” set and once called co-star Teri Hatcher the “meanest woman in the world,” show creator Marc Cherry testified Wednesday.

He said Sheridan and Hatcher were shooting a scene involving the ashes of a murdered neighbor when he was called to mediate an off-camera dust-up between the actresses.

“They were furious with each other,” Cherry told the jury. “Nicollette pulled me aside and proceeded to (say) Teri Hatcher was the meanest woman in the world.”

The scene involved Sheridan’s character Edie Britt pelting Hatcher’s character Susan Mayer with the ashes after Mayer confessed that she burned down Britt’s house.

“I personally witnessed Ms. Sheridan not knowing her lines in the scene,” and upsetting her co-star, Cherry said.

Sheridan is now suing Cherry for battery and wrongful termination, claming he killed her character off the hit ABC show after she complained that he hit her in the head during a September 2008 rehearsal.

Cherry told jurors that he made the final decision to kill Edie Britt in May 2008 – months before the alleged physical altercation – and that he only “tapped” Sheridan’s head in the course of instructing her how to proceed with a scene.

While Cherry complimented Sheridan’s comedic timing during testimony last week, he criticized her Wednesday.
