Nick Cannon’s Health, Nick Cannon was back in his office in mid-January, after suffering from mild kidney failure over the holidays but on Friday (February 17) the entertainer announced that he would give up his gig as a morning show host on 92.3 Now because of more health issues. Cannon revealed that doctors found blod clots in his lungs and advised him to cut back on his workload.

“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule,” he said in a statement.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support,” he said, adding that while he will no longer host his daily show, he will still host his weekly countdown show. “I will continue to host my syndicated ‘Cannon’s Countdown’ weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.”

On Friday morning, he took to Twitter as he prepped to say goodbye to his morning show. “A bitter sweet morning. I have to stop my radio show. Doctors orders,” he tweeted. “The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don’t slow down and stop working so hard then it’s a wrap!”

Cannon had been hospitalized over the holidays for kidney failure but seemed to be doing better. In an interview with MTV News weeks after the incident, he shared what was believed to have contributed to the hospitalization.

“I always considered myself as someone who was in great shape, but I was doing too much [to my body] so my immune system got confused and just started attacking my kidneys,” Cannon said in mid-January, pledging to focus on a healthier lifestyle. “You look at my Twitter picture and I look like I’m in shape, but I was putting the wrong stuff into my body, speeding all the time, not sleeping and eating properly. It’s all about taking time and really caring about yourself and how you fuel yourself.”
