Nfl Playoff Picks, (AP) – John Elway Denver Broncos provided with their most memorable moments and two of their trophies Lombardi. Now he is tabbed to lead another return.

Quarterback Hall of Fame is expected to join the Broncos in their direction of head football mid-week, a person with knowledge of the negotiations said Sunday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal to bring the franchise back to Elway has not been completed.

Team spokesman Patrick Smyth reports that the team had already reached an agreement with Elway was premature: “Interview with John progressing, but nothing has been finalized at this stage,” said Smyth.

Brian Xanders, ranging from GM as the name of the person who is authorized in the new organization, said he was excited about the imminent return Elway “because he is a winner, he knows football, it will hold people accountable and he knows where we go and it will be a great leader for our organization. ”

Attempts to reach Elway and his agent, Marvin Demoff, were unsuccessful.

The Broncos have won only one playoff game since Elway retired in 1999 after his second consecutive Super Bowl and have not reached the playoffs in five years.

“You know he has the experience of being a football player for one, and to be a Bronco for two,” safety Renaldo Hill. “It is just informed of the game. Every time you get it all here in the city of Denver, I do not think you could ask for anything better than that. You know it will work the butt of his stop because he put so much in this team when he was here. It will not change, even if it’s upstairs. ”

Rookie cornerback Perrish Cox said he thinks Elway can still work its magic, even at 50 years.

“It’s a great guy, gives great speeches, and gives a great motivation. Everything comes from him is positive,” said Cox. “It can help in all sorts of ways.”

Including the repair-tarnished image of the team.

“I think it will be a good situation to have that energy, that knowing what it takes to build a team from scratch,” said receiver Brandon Lloyd. “Growing up in Kansas City, I know all about John Elway and his accomplishments on the field. And his aura and the level of respect that the current players have and should have a legend should be postponed. ”

Elway first order of business will be looking for a coach. The Broncos (4-12) Josh McDaniels fired last month in the midst of their worst skid in four decades and in the wake of the Spygate scandal film II.

ESPN reported that Elway would discuss the opening with head coach Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. A former star at Stanford, Elway is serving as honorary captain for the Cardinal in Monday night at the Orange Bowl.

In the first line for an interview will Studesville Eric, who was promoted to interim coach running backs coach when McDaniels was fired Dec. 6 and went 1-3.

Elway, who has run the Denver arena team in the league, said on his radio shows Denver the past two weeks, he is eager to return to the NFL.

“I love football. That’s what I’m excited. The game is something that is in my blood, “he said on 87.7 The Ticket in Denver.

Elway joins a franchise that needs a revolution.

The Broncos were recognized during cooking McDaniels “that they had given too much power too soon when he poached staff from Bill Belichick in New England and made him head coach and de facto general manager with the final say on all personnel matters – two jobs then-32-year-old has never had before.

McDaniels traded Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Tony Scheffler and Peyton Hillis, and has not used all of his 19-round picks on a linebacker or defensive tackle. The Broncos ranked among the lowest in the league in all defensive categories.

The Broncos have just a half-dozen picks in the draft in April, although their loss Sunday at San Diego was the 12th, securing the No. 2 overall pick.

Elway has served as business consultant for the Broncos this year. He was an ambassador for their match in London, attended practices and even gave the team a pep talk at half-way through the season.

“You think you think Broncos and Elway and Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey and Terrell Davis,” receiver Eddie Royal said. “This name is the first name you think and he put his heart and soul into this organization, so it’s great he is back. And it will help. You know he’s a winner. You know he knows the game and he has been to Super Bowls, so he knows what it takes. ”
